Health Is More Than a Doctor’s Visit

I believe that health and wellness are the foundation of how we live, how we feel, and how we experience life.

As an OB/GYN, I have spent my career caring for women through many different seasons—from reproductive health and motherhood to hormonal changes, perimenopause, menopause, aging, and everything in between. One thing I have learned is that true wellness goes far beyond treating symptoms or waiting until something is wrong.

Wellness is about caring for the whole woman.

It means understanding your body, paying attention to the changes you experience, prioritizing preventive care, nourishing yourself, managing stress, getting appropriate rest and movement, and making your emotional and physical well-being a priority.

When You Feel Better, You Live Better

Women spend so much of their lives caring for everyone else that their own health can easily move to the bottom of the list.

I want to change that.

Taking care of yourself is not a luxury. Your health affects your energy, confidence, relationships, productivity, intimacy, emotional well-being and your ability to enjoy the life you have worked so hard to create.

That is why I encourage women to become active participants in their healthcare—ask questions, understand your body, keep your preventive appointments, know your numbers, recognize changes and never be afraid to advocate for yourself.

Wellness Looks Different in Every Season

What your body needs at 25 may be very different from what it needs at 45, 55 or beyond.

Hormones change. Metabolism changes. Skin changes. Sexual health can change. Sleep, energy, mood and even the way you see yourself can change.

These transitions should not make a woman feel as though she has somehow lost herself.

They are opportunities to learn your body again.

My goal is to help women navigate these changes with knowledge, confidence and individualized care—whether we are addressing gynecologic health, menopause, hormonal wellness, intimate wellness, aesthetics or preventive care.

Looking Good and Feeling Good Can Work Together

I also believe there is a meaningful connection between health, wellness and confidence.

Wanting to look refreshed, feel beautiful or enhance something about yourself does not diminish the importance of your health. When approached thoughtfully, wellness and aesthetics can complement one another.

For me, the goal is never to make someone become somebody else.

It is about helping you feel like the healthiest, most confident and vibrant version of yourself.

The Benefits of Prioritizing Your Wellness

When you intentionally invest in your health and wellness, the benefits can reach every area of your life. Preventive care may help identify health concerns earlier. Healthy lifestyle choices can support cardiovascular, bone and metabolic health. Paying attention to hormonal and gynecologic changes can lead to important conversations and appropriate treatment when needed.

But there are benefits that cannot always be measured on a chart.

There is value in having more energy.

There is value in sleeping better.

There is value in feeling comfortable in your body.

There is value in understanding what is happening to you.

And there is tremendous value in simply feeling heard by your healthcare provider.

My Commitment to Women

I want every woman who enters my office—or encounters me through social media, educational content, community outreach or my other platforms—to leave knowing more about her health than she did before.

My purpose is not simply to treat women.

It is to educate women. Empower women. Encourage women. And help women understand that taking care of themselves matters.

Your health matters.

Your wellness matters.

Your confidence matters.

And no matter what season of womanhood you are experiencing, you deserve care that sees all of you.
